Barleys started in August 2020 with a simple goal to create an all-vegan menu in a relaxed, welcoming space for all. We opened as Hull’s first vegan deli with just three sandwiches and a few bakes on the menu

With support from our early visitors, we soon expanded to seven days a week, growing our menu and developing our own house-made vegan alternatives. In 2025, we moved to a larger location on Newland Avenue, serving daily brunch and lunch, plus events like Yoga Brunch, Sunday Lunch and the return of our Evening Supper Clubs
